After an eventful day yesterday, woke up to a lazy Sunday watching Fedex Vs Djoker battle it out at wimbledon. Started the day with a mouth-watering brunch at Kashcool kitchen, a persian restaurant. I had Chenjeh Sultani Kabob (see the pic below). That’s the only meal I had the entire day and you can guess why. Very authentic and mostly organic. The watermelon juice was so damn good too.
Finally drove for the first time here. Took a bit of getting used to the left hand drive, with Sri reminding me “guru, swalpa aakade” often. Had to also get used to the distance to maintain between two cars. I mean at a traffic signal, its such a waste of space between two vehicles. We can stuff in a couple of more cars, 3 bikes, a cow and a few people as well. Its ridiculous how much space these guys waste here. What I clearly loved about Sri’s Volvo XC60 is the intelligence it came with. Lots of tiny details, reminding me of a hoarding in namma ooru – “Safety first, speed next”. Cruise control was awesome too, just when my left leg was feeling left out doing no work.
Pretty much on the road all day and got back home late. Gonna crash now and get ready to visit Alcatraz tomorrow. Hope I don’t turn around and say “WELCOME TO THE ROCK” to the rest of the tourists when I get there.

- I knew this would make me happy
- “A different kind of driver”

If you drove that without a valid license there, then there will be CIA and NSA people saying ‘welcome to the rock’ to you today at Alcatraz. There are cells which still can house crazy guys like you in there 😉 there are some windows from which you can see and hear bay-area people chatter which will be helpful when you are all alone blogging later 😉
Ha! Thankfuly no. Updated the next post – not from the Rock!
