My last week at SF was filled with a few more drinking sessions at Faultline Brewing, Gourmet Haus Staudt (twice), Vesta, The Blacksmith and Saddle room bar.
The highlight though was a solo hike in Phleger estate. Breathtakingly beautiful trail inside Purisima redwood creeks but scray as hell as I was all by myself (saw some 3 people in the entire stretch in different trails). When I ventured into it, I didnt know what I was signing up for. The entrance warned me to be careful of Ticks, Poison oak, Rattle snakes and Mountain lions. Yes, MOUNTAIN LION! Apart from a few basic intstruction on what to do when you encounter one, the last line said “If attacked, fight back.”
I will let the pictures speak for themselves although it actually doesn’t do justice to the resoultion and shades your eye can capture. I started the trek around 11:45 AM starting at Purisma Creek North Ridge Trailhead along North ridge trail to Harkins to Bay area to Craig britton to Purisima creek to all the way to Skyline boulevard. Have tried to mark my trail in this image. Refer the google map below that image to view the area more carefuly. Ended at around 3:15 completely famished, with a bruised left leg awaiting an Uber some 25 minutes away. An adventure that might have found its way to my ‘add-this-to-my-non-documented-bucket-list’.
Super happy to have spent time with family (Ranji, Roshi, Dhruv, Roju, Sneh, Swathi, Suthin) and Sri and AV (always feels like home when am with them). Glad to have met Lotika and Mathew couple of times and of course Arun and his evil twin Angshu and their wife, Gariashi.
