After a much subdued week 3 in Nashville, which was spent mostly with Ze Meera and Paddy, it was time to head to Nola!
New Orleans weekend was crazzzzzzzzy! AC, PD, Jay and me hit the casino as soon we we landed. Harrah’s is huuuuge. Played 3 card poker mostly and as usual ended up in the negative. But was fun. Felt a lot better playing here than in Vegas where I was struggling to find the right game/ table. Lot’s of interesting cafe’s around. We ate at Cafe Amelie, which is set in this beautiful historic 150-year-old Princess of Monaco Courtyard and Carriage House on Royal Street in the French Quarter. Food was yum. Cocktail yummer. Tried Chicken and Andouille Gumbo, Amelie Oysters, applewood smoked bacon, eggs, grits and fresh baked croissant. Another nice place we ate at was Johny Sanchez. The smoked pork grillades was…to die for.
Caught up with Lax and Gau after that. Hit couple of bars before doing a nice 2 hour segway tour of the city. Good fun negotiating through the small lanes and understanding the history and culture of this beautiful city.
Few more Casino outings and pub hoping later, finally went to the Jazz and Heritage fest. Crowded but a lot more organised than the fests back home. Watched RHCP live. Anthony Kiedis had a weird moustache. They were fun. Lots of energry as you’d expect.
Some pics and the Nola video (shot and edited completely on my phone) of all the fun…well, not all…but most of the things we did.
